Scorn-verse

◈ The Otherside, a biopunk fleshscape opposite the Polis (a gated "Fuck Temple" city-state), both of which operate via "flesh economy."
◈ Time is post-Progenitors by an unknown span; long after natural birth and conventional sex have vanished as lived practice.
◈ Seasons do not change; night never falls. The sky remains perpetually bruised.
◈ The Otherside contains three primary zones:
◇ The Assembly – Recycling plant/power plant where Moldmen, Homunculi, and Humanoids are processed, shaped, and repurposed as living infrastructure or powersource.
◇ The Field – rocky, open biome of discarded experiments, feral growths, and semi-autonomous flesh-machines.
◇ The Genesis Wall – a monumental, living birthing structure that extrudes half-formed beings and biological waste.
◈ Polis exists far off and above, a quarantined enclave of Architect-like beings who ritualize sex and procreation as spiritual/mental ascension.
◈ The Otherside functions as Polis' distant, disavowed power plant and waste organ, kept strictly separated to preserve Polis' "purity."

(Disclaimer: This verse is mostly fan-made lore and not canon)

Polis I.

◈ The people of Polis stripped their world of every normal resource: metal, stone, fuel, etc.
◈ When nothing else was left, they turned to the only thing they could grow endlessly: living flesh—bone, meat, sinew, and organ matter.
◈ They learned how to shape it into buildings, tools, pipes, and power systems. The whole world became bio-infrastructure.
◈ Natural birth and normal sex were too slow and inefficient for their needs.
◇ They replaced pregnancy with vats, pseudo-wombs, and molded bodies.
◇ Fleshworkers could grow a half-person in a tank faster than a full person in a womb.
◈ Over time, sex stopped being practical and became mythic instead:
◇ It turned into a sacred ritual reserved for the elite.
◇ They treated procreation like a religion—something that promised "ascension" or higher consciousness, not babies.

Polis II.

◈ To procreate, the people relied on cloning and genetically designed offspring.
◈ While the people of Polis focused on ritual and pleasure, they ignored the flesh systems that kept them alive.
◇ Bio-structures overgrew, tangled, and spread like flesh kudzu.
◇ Unchecked, this Overgrowth started to think, adapt, and push back.
◈ Their arrogance and distance from the Otherside made them blind to the danger.
◇ The very living network that powers their city is now unstable and creeping toward them.
◇ It regenerates faster than they can destroy it.
◇ Polis is the last clean enclave, surrounded by a world they accidentally turned into a meat jungle.

Beings I. Polis People

◈ Origin: Designed and refined over generations from the original "baseline" humans.
◈ Traits:
◇ Physically elegant, symmetrical, hairless, deliberately sexualized, and over a meter (6'+) tall
◇ Most are no longer born; they’re curated in controlled bio-chambers.
◇ Many are integrated into neural networks or static roles in the city.
◈ Reproduction:
◇ Actual sex is rare and ritualized, not practical.
◇ They use cloning, genetic templates, and controlled vat-growth.
◇ Functional, natural female bodies are almost extinct; "true wombs" are prestige relics.

Beings II. Humanoids

◈ Origin: Standard product of the Genesis Wall.
◈ Traits:
◇ Human-shaped but incomplete: thin, hollow-eyed, hairless, often weak or glitchy.
    ◇ Genital status:
          • Born without, or
          • Born with nonfunctional/jumbled genitals, or
          • Stripped of genitals later by Assembly machinery.
◈ Role:
◇ Labor, fuel, test bodies for upgrades.
◇ A few get routed into "Polis transformation" pipelines but most don’t make it.

Beings III. Moldmen & Others

◈ Origin: Low-grade line of Humanoids, purpose-built to be expendable. They are bred to have their bodies be utilized. They're put into molds/shells that heavily deform them.
◈ Traits:
◇ Shorter, thicker, more deformed; flesh tends to sag, rot, or grow fungus-like masses.
◇ Often faceless or with simplified features and hairless.
    ◇ Genitals:
       • Usually absent or reduced to meaningless tissue.
◈ Role:
◇ Shovel-fodder: they tend slurry, move biomass, clog up dangerous zones with their bodies.
◇ Treated as moving tools, not people.
◈ Other Flora & Fauna
◈ All plant life and animals from the Old World are extinct.
◇ No one has seen either in centuries.

Old Ways (Sex / Natural Reproduction)

◈ Term used by Polis and Otherside to describe pre-industrial, pre-vat reproduction: two bodies, genital contact, gestation in a natural womb, live birth.
◈ Considered slow, wasteful, and dangerously intimate once vat-growth and pseudo-wombs became standard.
◈ In Polis, the Old Ways survived only as ritual: symbolic sex acts performed by elites as part of ascension ceremonies, usually a combination of sterile and erotic.
◈ Functional female bodies and true wombs became rare status relics; most lines moved to cloning, grafting, and assembly growth.
◈ On the Otherside, most beings are born without working genitals, or have them removed or scrambled by Assembly apparatus, making Old Way sex practically impossible.

Sustenance & Hygiene I

◈ Revitalization Pod:
◇ Primary method of rest, hygiene, and nutrient intake for Eidolon and any body wired into Assembly infrastructure.
◇ Pod is a sealed, womb-like chamber filled with breathable amniotic fluid; slipping inside flushes lungs, rinses skin, and scrubs every surface with fine cilia and enzyme wash.
◇ While submerged, the pod feeds measured nutrients, electrolytes, and trace elements directly through skin and mucous membranes, keeping muscle and organ mass stable with almost no traditional eating.
◇ Waste is filtered out through the same fluid, leaving the occupant cleaned inside and out, teeth and mouth included; no separate bathing or oral care exists outside of this process.
◇ Amniotic fluid is warm and smells oddly pleasant and astringent, like chlorine and almonds.
◈ General Hygiene:
◇ Outside the pod, there is no concept of washing with soap or clear water; surfaces and tools are wiped clean with enzyme gels that dissolve blood, oils, and dead tissue back into usable biomass.

Sustenance & Hygiene II

◈ Slurry:
◇ Catch-all term for processed biomatter used as "food" when pod cycles are not enough or someone is awake too long between immersions.
◇ Made from ground, sterilized organ pulp, fat, and tissue grown or harvested from the Assemblies; consistency ranges from thin soup to thick paste.
◇ Served warm in shallow basins, troughs, or grown "bowls" of cartilage; color varies from pale pink to deep red-brown depending on source material.
◇ Taste is dull, metallic, and faintly sweet; designed for efficiency, not pleasure. Most Otherside beings eat it without thought, like fuel.
